Every great institution is built on a foundation of dreams. For Hiramani Memorial Hospital, that foundation was laid not with bricks and mortar, but with a mother’s teachings and a family’s resilience.
Hiramani Memorial Hospital was built on a foundation of love, family values, and a mother's profound teachings to give back to society.
The story begins in the humble fields of the Midnapore District, in the home of a farmer’s family. Smt. Hiramoni Devi was a housewife and a mother to five children (three sons and two daughters). Though she did not have the privilege of a high formal education, she possessed a wisdom that shaped the future. She instilled in her children a zest for excellence, but her most important lesson was simple: “Be a good human being, and always give something back to society.”
Carrying these values in his heart, Dr. Sudhansu Sekhar Jana embarked on a medical career that spanned over 35 years in government health services as a Senior Gynecologist & Obstetrician. Personal tragedy had touched his life early; losing his father at a young age, Dr. Jana was raised by his elder brother. This experience taught him the immense power of family bondage and the strength of love during a crisis—values that would later define the culture of his hospital. Driven by a desire to fulfill his mother's wish and dedicate his life to mankind, Dr. Jana established Hiramani Memorial Hospital in July 2019.
